Milk Can left Hanging

The iconic galvanized tin milk can was an absolute necessity for any farm with milking cows. It's funnel top was both for filling and pouring, as the tapered edge created a neat stream of milk when poured into the homoginizer or smaller containers. Most small farms used the milk without homoginizing as it disappeared quickly. Cream rose to the top since it contained more fat. It was used mostly for butter, but often ended up in a bowl with peaches. Here it hangs on the side of a paint-ready building, perhaps the only purpose being to know where it was last put. The window with missing panes tells its own story.
